Impermanence Series

The truth of life is impermanence. Yet, we desperately want permanence. We don't want to be upended, uprooted over and over. We crave constant stability. We chase forever, as if it's something real, attainable, and sustainable. Why do we do this? Logically, we know it's an impossibility to obtain forever. Emotionally, we can't help but crave it... Then it's not an intellectual matter; it's an emotional bottleneck. A bottleneck that requires us to untangle our emotional knot. Is it fear, is it uncertainty, is it procrastination, is it denial, is it laziness, is it escapism, is it avoidance, is it all of it? Is it all too much work to think about that uncertainty is the only certainty there ever is? Is it something you pretend not to know? Therefore, you don't need to accept it?
Permanence is easy. It's once, and for all, it's once and forever. No evolution is required on your part, not physical, not mental. Once you've got it, you have got it for good. That's why we made up this easy route and pretend it's an option we can choose. Go ahead and choose it. You would be choosing an illusion that leads to a dead end. You would be choosing a route that won't demand your growth or evolution. You would be choosing to decline, to decay, to regress with time. You would be living the minimal version of yourself. The bare minimum would become your norm, your average, and your standard. That's what the illusion of permanence promises. Would you dare to choose it? Would you dare to fool yourself willingly? Would you dare to lead yourself toward destruction without flinching?
Impermanence asks for our courage, our determination, our evolution, our growth, our development, our perseverance, our trust, our passion, our love, our care, our drive, our desire, our vulnerability, our honesty, our awareness, and our acceptance. We need impermanence. We need it to become ourselves. Impermanence is a renewing energy that keeps giving -it's renewal. Without impermanence, there is no newness. Permanence doesn't exist in reality (neither does perfection). In reality, there has always been impermanence only (so is imperfection). We take the existence of the word, permanence (and perfection), for its factual existence in our world. Make the distinction that the presence of the word, permanence, does not symbolize its transcendence in our realm.
Impermanence is not the opposite of permanence. Impermanence is the ebb and flow of life, of all things.
It turns out, impermanence is what's permanent.

The Introversion Series explores the less talked-about subject and illuminates the various characteristics of being an introvert. This series acknowledges our diverse human temperaments, specifically introversion amongst extroversion and ambiversion.
Yunchieh’s journey of discovery, realization, acceptance, and embracing her introverted temperament has motivated her to express her personal experiences through this series of paintings. With the contrast of emptiness and saturation, organic edges and geometric folds, risen structures and recessed surfaces, Yunchieh subtly reveals the introversion characteristics that are usually hidden, quiet, and not spoken about…
The Introversion Series is a doorway to appreciating the dynamic intricacies of our human innate wiring.
內向性格，此系列畫作從各種內向性格特質出發，將不常出現在我們談話中的此議題提出探討。此系列對人們不同的性格致意，其中特別著墨於內向性格。
蘊潔以自己從發現、了解、接受、到全然認可其內向性格的過程與經歷作為靈感與動力創作了此系列畫作。在空無與飽和、天然與幾何、凹與凸的對比之下，蘊潔細膩的表現出內向性格通常不明顯也不被關注的種種特質。
內向性格系列是作為欣賞如此變動又複雜的人類性格本質的入口。
Intuition Series
2024
Intuition, a six Sumi ink painting series on calligraphy paper, Yunchieh delved into how we, living in modern society, are influenced and shaped by many forces around us, consciously and unconsciously. Letting the ink absorb and seep through the paper without purposeful painting, but subtle movements only reveals a glimpse into our internal process.
The organic edges where the ink and paper meet tell the story of this natural phenomenon within each of us. The residue of the ink runs along the folds of the paper like our inner compass, ever so faintly showing us the way. This delicate guidance, often overshadowed by the noise of life, suggests we pause and pay closer attention...
The restrained interpretation of this complex subject matter throughout the series is an invitation to our introspection and contemplation.
直覺，是六幅水墨作品系列。蘊潔從現代人們被來自各方面的影響與塑造如此有意識或無意識的現象切入探討。運用毛筆刷毛在紙上做微小定點的移動與停頓而非目的性的描繪，隨著墨汁暈染滲透紙張纖維而呈現的視覺來表現我們在此現象影響下的內在過程。
在墨與紙相遇的不規則交界裡訴說著我們內在被外來力量自然滲透感染的經過。殘餘的墨汁順著紙張摺痕而輕輕劃過，像是我們心中的指南針，以不完全又微弱的光線照往前方的道路。如此常被生活中喧囂給淹沒的細微指引提醒著我們要停下腳步，給予其關注。
以簡約的手法詮釋如此複雜的主題是此系列對觀者內視與沈思的邀請。
